Tomorrow, Gohar wants to go pick some apricots. She adores this golden fruit. Her grandmother puts it everywhere: in the pilaf, in desserts. She serves it fresh, dried or cooked. When Gohar comes back to her mud-walled house, carrying her Hammam Bucket Bag full of fruit, she delicately places them in a fruit-bowl on the living-room korsi. The base of the bowl is twisted round. When Gohar touches it, it reminds her of the contours of Armenia’s mountains. She has only been there twice, yet, she will never forget the breathtaking azure skies. She was there, seating on a rock, at the top of Mount Aragats, drawing with her finger tip the bold line between sky and stone.
